The Burnley Premier League Grand Final takes place this Sunday. There are approx. 60 tickets remaining. These will be available from behind the bar at the Rosegrove Unity WMC priced at £3 each. Remaining tickets will be on sale on the day if not sold out. Check back here for regular updates.
Gary Hooper claimed top spot and took first blood going into Sundays' finals with a 7-3 victory over 2nd placed Wayne Clegg. Gary set off well narrowly missing out on a 10 darter in the opening leg, eventually hitting D18 with his 3rd arrow. He then took the next leg in 16 darts and threatened to run away with the match but Cleggy fought back well, taking the next 3 legs, 2 against the throw. Wayne then failed to hit his doubles and Gary took the final 5 legs to earn himself £100 for top spot and £100 for best average over the season.
Mick Taylor and Mick Whittaker will now join Gary and Wayne on Sunday after both players recorded convincing victories over Fred Carter and Graham Lalor respectively. Both players needed the win to guarentee their place in the finals and deny Gary Kendall of a final place.
Gary Hooper will face Mick Whittaker in the first Semi Final and Wayne Clegg will meet Mick Taylor in the second.
Gary Kendall and Jack North finished with a 6-6 draw and will both look forward to next years competition after qualifying in top 6 positions.
Peter Rebanks will take the title as strongest player in Burnley after suffering his 17th defeat of the season to fellow struggler Paul Gilbert. And as the picture shows below, he can flex his muscles to prove it.
